STEP-1
Go to https://aws.amazon.com and click on “Create an AWS Account” (Top right corner) OR directly go to https://portal.aws.amazon.com/billing/signup
STEP-2 (SIGNUP)
Enter your email address and name, and click “Verify email address”
STEP-3 (EMAIL VERIFICATION)
Enter the verification code received in your email and click “Verify”
STEP-4 (PASSWORD)
Enter you new password and confirm password, and click “Continue”
STEP-5 (PERSONAL DETAILS)
*Provide complete Name and address, providing junk or incorrect values in address will lead to account suspension.
- Select – Personal
- Full Name
- Phone Number with Country Code
- Country
- Address
- City
- State
- Postal Code
- Tick – I have Read and Understood
and click on “Continue”
STEP-6 (CARD DETAILS)
- Enter your VISA or MASTER card details.
- Do you have PAN? – Select “Yes” and enter your PAN number.
Click on “Verify and Continue”
You will be redirected to your card payment page where you enter your OTP or 3dSecure pin as applicable for your card. AWS will debit your card with Rs2 for card verification, this will be reversed in 2-3 working days. Post successful payment, you will be redirected to the signup page for further steps
STEP-7 (MOBILE NUMBER)
- Select – Text Message
- Country – India (+91)
- Mobile Phone Number – Your number
- Enter security code (captcha)
Click on “Send SMS”
STEP-8 (MOBILE VERIFICATION)
Enter the verification code received in your mobile and click on “Continue”
STEP-9 (SUPPORT PLAN)
- Select “Basic Support”
Click on “Complete Signup”
STEP-10 (FINISH)
If everything is ok, ‘Thank You’ message will be displayed, though you successfully signed-up but the account activation may take time.
STEP-11 (CHECK EMAIL FOR ACTIVATION)
You will receive two emails from AWS
First email will be received as soon as you sign up with the following subject “Welcome to Amazon Web Services”
Second email will be received once your account is activated after verification by AWS with the following subject “Your AWS Account is Ready – Get Started Now” (This may take 5minutes to 24 hours)
If you don’t receive second email beyond 24 hours, then contact AWS support for further details
STEP-12 (VERIFY ACCOUNT ACTIVATION)
Sign in to your AWS account https://console.aws.amazon.com/console/home
- Select – Root User
- Root User Email Address – Your Email Address
- Click on Next (Enter Captcha if any)
- Enter your Password
Try to open the EC2 dashboard page by clicking on the below link

If you are able to see the dashboard then your AWS account is activated.
If the account is not activated then you get the below message.
